2015 International Conference on Theoretical and High Performance Computational Chemistry
The International Conference on Theoretical and High Performance Computational Chemistry 2015 (ICT-HPCC15), organized by Virtual Laboratory for Computational Chemistry (VLCC), Supercomputing Center (SCCAS), Computer Network Information Center (CNIC), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) was held in Qingdao on Sep. 26 - 29, 2015. Approximately one hundred computational chemists and scholars coming from twelve countries and regions including Germany, Belgium, India, Japan, Spain, Taiwan, Mainland China, etc. attended the conference.
The acting conference chairman of the ICT-HPCC15, Prof. Jeremy Harvey, from Katholieke University Leuven, Belgium gave a welcome speech and pointed out that ICT-HPCC15 provides a good platform for every participant to share their up-to-date research results. Prof. Jin Zhong from SCCAS introduced the computer system ERA in SCCAS, overviewed the history of ICT-HPCC and showed the program of ICT-HPCC15.
Thirty five talks were presented during ICT-HPCC15, which focused on recent advances in quantum chemistry, molecule dynamics, QM/MM as well as related high performance computing software. A poster session was held in the late afternoon of Sep. 28. Excellent posters and best-designed posters were awarded at the closing.
The ICT-HPCC15, the ninth of a series of conferences, is a milestone in the development of VLCC which was founded in 2004. ICT-HPCC has established its own characteristics, style and now owning pretty high reputation in the computational chemistry research circle worldwide. And VLCC plays a role of bridging domestic and international computational chemistry researchers. In 2014, the Journal of Physical Chemistry A by the American Chemical Society published a special issue for ICT-HPCC.
