International Conference on Big Scientific Data Management

The International Conference on Big Scientific Data Management (BigSDM 2018) was held in Beijing, China, during November 30th - December 1st, 2018. The Conference was jointly organized by Chinese Academy of Sciences, Peking University, Tsinghua University, Renmin University, CWI, and MonetDB Solutions.

Featured a number of renowned experts as keynote speakers such as Dr. Barry C. Barish, Dr. Guo Huadong and Dr. Alexander S. Szalay, the two-day conference provided an open forum to discuss the opportunities and challenges of a big scientific data ecosystem, and to explore best practices, standards, architectures and data infrastructures for fostering cross-disciplinary discovery and innovation. During the conference, more than 200 participants addressed various topics of interest such as data policy and infrastructure, large research facilities, machine learning, big earth data, and data management system.
