Dr. Yong Ge Visited Computer Network Information Center
Dr. Yong Ge from the University of Arizona visited the Computer Network Information Center (CNIC) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences on May 18 by the joint invitation of CNIC's Big Data Technology and Application Development Department and Advanced Interactive Technology and Application Laboratory. During his visit, Dr. Ge made a presentation entitled Point-of-Interest Recommendations in Location-based Social Networks and had in-depth discussion on relevant topics with researchers, engineers and graduate students from CNIC.
Dr. Ge is a well-known young scholar in data mining. After receiving his Ph.D. in Information Technology from Rutgers University, Dr. Ge has been served as Assistant Professor at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and the University of Arizona. He has published prolifically in referred journals and conferences proceedings, such as IEEE TKDE, ACM TOIS, ACM TKDD, ACM TIST, ACM SIGKDD, IEEE ICDM, and ACM RecSys. He has served as Program Committee members at the ACM SIGKDD, the International Conference on Web-Age Information Management, and IEEE ICDM. Dr. Ge has also served as a reviewer for a considerable number of journals, including IEEE TKDE, ACM TIST, KAIS, Information Science and TSMC-B.
