The National-Local Joint Engineering Laboratory of Big Data Analysis and Computing Technology led by the Computer Network Information Center (CNIC) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences has been formally approved by the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), which means CNIC has made further progress in building its capacity in relevant fields and hosting the national innovation platform of engineering and technology. This event will strongly guarantee CNIC’s involvement in the national and regional endeavors to develop key big data technologies, cultivate professional data engineers and promote technology transfer.
Supported by China Science and Technology Cloud, the National-Local Joint Engineering Laboratory of Big Data Analysis and Computing Technology will give high priorities to addressing the urgent demands for big data analysis and processing technology and solving complicated problems in big data development such as finding approaches to tame the volume, velocity and variability of massive data. The laboratory will integrate multiple forms of data resources, fuse diversified big data benchmarks, develop key big data technologies and construct a series of platforms for producing and using big data. In addition, testing of demonstrations will be designed and implemented in various areas such as food security, new materials design, automotive energy and emission to increase the capacity in industrial innovation and promote the economic development of the region.
