GOSC IPO receives visitors from the CISTE
On February 3rd, GOSC International Programme Office (IPO) co-hosted by Computer Network Information Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences received its first new-year visitors from the China Centre for International Science and Technology Exchange (CISTE). As one of the essential GOSC supporters, CISTE is affiliated with the China Association for Science and
Technology (CAST), with a long history of promoting international science and technology exchanges with priorities on international scientific organization affairs, international conferences, new channels for multilateral cooperation, etc.
This conversation includes an introduction to the GOSC Initiative progress and discussions of further alignment under the umbrella of UNESCO (UNESCO Recommendation on Open Science ) and the International Science Council (action plan 2022-2024).
“The promising progress GOSC achieved over the past three years is impressive. Besides, I hope this GOSC Initiative can enhance the connection with UNESCO and ISC for future development”, said Ms. Gu YanFeng, the deputy director of CISTE.
As the new year begins, GOSC and its IPO will further engage with global stakeholders to co-build the open science clouds across domains and regions. GOSC IPO has launched its strategic cooperation with the Integrated Research on Disaster Risk (IRDR). Future explorations include potential alignment with other big science initiatives and multi-disciplinary applications. A series of workshops and conferences are on their way for GOSC knowledge sharing and capacity building, such as the International Symposium on Open Science Clouds (ISOSC 2023) and the International Training Workshop on Open Science.
Let us embrace a fresh start of the GOSC initiative in the Year of the Rabbit!
