A GOSC Case Study publicized by the International Science Council

Date: Aug 01, 2025

Recently, a Global Open Science Cloud (GOSC) SDGs Case Study in collaboration with Global South partners has been selected as one of the flagship cases by the International Science Council (ISC) in the position paper for the 2025 High-level Political Forum (HLPF) for sustainable development Five Years to Course Correct: Science and Engineering for a world off track. This marks a milestone in GOSC’s global recognition as a leading model for accelerating SDG implementation through open science infrastructures partnership.

Grounded in equity, inclusion, and shared benefits among Global South institutions, the GOSC initiative aims to co-design and co-develop a global open science ecosystem that is interconnected, interoperable, inclusive, and trustworthy, thereby addressing the UNESCO call for Open Science and Sustainable Development. Network connectivity, secure AAI, computing federation, FAIR data, and policy alignment are all key components to bridge the digital divides faced by the Global South.

In the future, GOSC will continue to strengthen its collaborations with the Global South, developing AI-powered open science infrastructure and promoting harmonized policies to shape a globally inclusive digital research ecosystem.
